Set in the heart of Halam, just a stone’s throw from Southwell, The Waggon is a village pub with a real sense of place. Following a thoughtful refurbishment, we’ve created spaces that feel comfortable, relaxed and welcoming, whether you’re calling in for a pint, meeting friends for supper, gathering the family together or celebrating something special.
Halam itself is one of Nottinghamshire’s most charming villages, with a history stretching back hundreds of years and a beautiful rural setting that makes it well worth the journey. We’re proud to be part of that story and hope The Waggon continues to be a place where locals and visitors alike can come together. The village’s St Michael’s Church dates back to the 12th century and remains a reminder of the area’s long-standing heritage.
Food sits at the heart of what we do. Our kitchen works with fresh ingredients, sourcing locally wherever possible and everything is prepared from scratch by our chefs. Menus are carefully curated and evolve regularly to reflect the best available ingredients, seasonal inspiration and the creativity of our chefs, ensuring there’s always something new to discover.
Behind the bar, you’ll find a range of draught favourites including Pravha, Estrella Damm, 1664 0.0% and Paradise No.3, alongside a carefully curated wine list that offers something a little different, whether you’re joining us for a quick drink or losing an afternoon with friends.
Above all else, we’re passionate about genuine hospitality. We’re proud to call Halam home and hope The Waggon becomes as much a part of village life as it is a destination for those making the journey to visit us. We want The Waggon to be the kind of pub that people feel at home, return to often and recommend to others. Whether you’re local to Halam or discovering us for the first time, we look forward to giving you a warm, Waggon welcome.
